I wasn't really offended by the two characters mostly because I knew they weren't a representation of me. I just thought that they were kind of aggravating and got in the way as far as the story goes. They didn't even serve a true purpose. If they were there for comic relief, I thought other parts were funnier than the interaction between the two robots.
